Jason on March 23rd, 2008We just got back from a fun day of fishing in Baffin Bay with Captain Aubrey Black. Aubrey called us up earlier in the week and said the fishing was on so my brother, father and I drove down Thursday night for a shot at a few big fish on Friday. The topwater bite was on early as right out of the boat Aubrey hooked up with a 28″ redfish. We all started throwing lures on the top and Jake hooked up with this nice trout that we managed to get some film of.

Jake on February 8th, 2008If big speckled trout are what you target, then November through January are months to remember. Trips have ranged from drifting and wading in waters from East Matagorda Bay to the back bays of West Matagorda Bay. There are countless fishing trips that I would consider highlights.
Jake Brown of Brown Lures joined me the day after a big December cold front. We hunkered down and fished in 30mph winds and consistently caught fish. The Pearl/Chart and Plumtreuse Brown Lures produced fantastic numbers of speckled trout
