If you’re from coastal Texas, you’ve seen it. The shape, anyway. That cork-shaped blunt head with the skinny whip tail, aka the Devil Eye made by Houston, Texas-based Brown Lures. It’s been knocked off by others in the region – a sure sign that it works and people are buying it – but not outside of that market.

Hot lures this month have been my usual standby lures like the Brown Lures Devil Eyes in just about any dark color you can find. Corky Devils and Fat Boys have done well and with the warming shallow waters, or topwater bite has really kicked in.
