New Site Features
One of our main goals here is to make not only our website, but the Brown Lures company as a whole more interactive. We would like to bring all of you in on the development process and let you be involved in everything from coming up with new product ideas to reviewing new colors and more importantly, testing out those new ideas. Part of this involves you communicating with us directly, but another important side is the interaction between all of you that follow us here on BrownLures.com. In order to get the conversation going we’ve added in some new features to let everyone interact, discuss, argue or whatever you choose to do, with the hope that combining everyones opinion together will make the whole pie that much greater than if we try to control everything on our own.

Ratings
Our newest feature, which I love so far, is our new ratings system. Every post/report/article/review that you view on our site now has a simple rating system at the bottom of it. If you love this report, then click on the 4 or 5 stars, if you think it is terrible and don’t want to see more like it then give it a 1 star. Pretty simple and easy to use, and I think it will give us a better idea of what kind of content you would like to see here. You may also notice the “Red Carpet” list on the left side of this page. That is where our top commentators show up, so if you want bragging rights then comment & rate away.

Comments
In addition to the ratings system, we have also made some changes to our comments. In the same way that every page you view will have a rating, you can also leave comments about that topic. You can use this to ask questions, just comment on the report, make suggestions and more importantly–talk to other readers on here. The comments work just like a message board, so if you have spent any time on 2CoolFishing or Wadefishing.com then the format should be familiar.

New Products
Something I’m really looking forward to using is our New Products review section (http://brownlures.com/category/newstuff/). Whenever we come up with something new–this may be a different lure color, a completely different fishing lure, or just a sketch of a lure or accessory that we are contemplating–we will post it up in this section. There you can use the star rating or leave comments so that we can get some feedback and know where to go with that idea. I think this has a lot of potential to not only help us design better new products, but to let you find exactly what you are looking for, and it’s something that you aren’t likely to find from other manufacturers.

Here is a demo that we put together to show you how to use all of these new features.

Free $50 Gift Certificate
Since we believe in these new features so much, we are going to give you something for trying them out. We have two $50 Gift Certificates (good for shopping online at BrownLures.com) that we are going to give away to people who test out our new comments and ratings systems. These two gift certificates will go to the people who are the most active in commenting and rating on our site now through June 30th. Other people can rate your comments, so if you want a good shot at winning then make sure you are making a comment that is worth it for someone else to rate. We can also tell if you are rating yourself, so don’t even try.

Good ideas guys, there are alot of useful opinions about the great stuff you guys make. I’m glad to hear some jigheads are on the way, its hard to get a good jighead at alot of places. Hope you guys can find a retailer in Kingsville, TX-lots of people slay the trout on your lures in Baffin-and it’d be great not to get eaten up by shipping costs from the website!

I really like the new additions to your site. The feedback area is great. What I don’t like is 3 of my 4 favorite colors being sold out! Get more devil eyes to Round Rock Sportsman’s Warehouse please!

Y’all are doing great! Now…if you could just get your grampa to let you sell his stuff on the site too, I wouldn’t have to make the annual pilgrimage to Houston! :)

Thanks for the comments, We’re working hard to get more supply out there to local retailers. Hopefully very soon you’ll see them in your favorite stores. If there’s some place you’d like to see them, let us know!

Great idea and I like the new additions to the site. Would really like the opportunity to test some of the products. Like others have said, every time I hear of one of your lures that is great, I can never find it anywhere and your site will always say that the particular lure or color I want is sold out. Make more!! :)

I have been using Browns lures for quite sometime. The mere product is superb to say the least. I fish 200 days a year before after work or even for work. As a fisherman I strive to seek the best products to suite this out of control addiction I have for fishing. If you are not a Browns customer I would suggest you get right and chase the elusive big girl with Browns lures. When your time counts chunking a lure with some backbone is needed Brown’s is your only choice. Heck just yesterday my son got some mail from Browns lures. It turns out my son uses them also as he’s been stealing them from me when I am not looking. His Mom took him to get some and entered in the free lures enclosed on package.

Good stuff for sure to say the least.

These are great ideas. I think that in order to stay on top of the game you really need stuff like this. It really makes it easy for me to get my lures when I need them from Roy’s instead of ordering them online and having to wait.

I’ve been fishing with brown lures for 2 1/2 years now and I’ll never go back to the old bass assassin, norton, doa, etc. These plastics have been so successful for me. There so durable I’ve limited before on ONE lure. The tails are so flexible and durable, they draw so much more attention than your typical plastic that lasts for one fish before replacing. The flexibility of brown lures have created a phenomenal hook up to strike ratio for me. You don’t lose fish with brown lures they want it and don’t just hit it. They swallow these things!!! They say Gulp out fishes live bait, they got it completely wrong. BROWN LURES OUT FISH LIVE BAIT!!! I have gotten all my buddies in love with them as well. I brought over several packs of plum, pink, and bone to my cousin in Lake Charles which is an avid Calcasieu angler and they are stuck on them too! Brown lures are hands down THE BEST baits on the market!! I guarantee if you have fished with Brown your missing out and definetely should give it a try. You will be stuck like the rest of us!!And not just one specific color either. I have had and continue to have great success on every color of course depending on the conditions! However, my personal favorite is the pink hologram!! Thanks Jake and the others of Brown lures for creating such a wonderful bait!! Good luck and keep them new colors coming!!

Fished with the new Lemon Aid color this weekend. It produced huge Sand trout and donkey whiting (WHAT)every other cast I was into fish till I ran out of soft baits.

Cool color and produced 4 upper slot reds before the AM feed was over.

Lots of good stuff on here, thanks to all of you. I’m shocked at the number of comments on here.

A common theme seems to be production- this is being fixed in a BIG way. New shop, new molds, new equipment… it’s all starting to fall together and we’re only about a week from being fully stocked. Just hang in there a bit longer

I haven’t gone there since my knee surgery, and I was wondering how things are down there. Also, with November days away, the flouder run should be on.Has anyone herd about the situation as far as access to roll over pass from the ferry on Galveston? Oh, you guys @ brown lures love the products been stocking up on devil eyes as you might have noticed from my recent orders.Would love to know when the solos are planned to be available.Been keeping an eye on your site, and no luck yet.
